OCEAN CITY, NJ — The Ocean City Fishing Club will hold its second Open House of the year at the Pier on Thursday, Aug. 2, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the Ocean City Food Cupboard.
The club held its first Open House of the year on July 19. On that night, 766 visitors contributed 202 pounds of non-perishable food items and $294 in cash donations in a two-hour period. At last year’s two open houses, 1,835 people donated 186 pounds of food and $746 in cash to help feed those in need.
Club members will be on hand to give guided tours, answer questions and demonstrate fishing from the end of the pier. The open house coincides with the city’s Family Night on the Boardwalk.
