Ocean City Flower Show, Fishing Event Lead Busy June Week
The Music Pier flower show, weekly market and a new police benevolent fishing tournament are on this week's calendar.

OCEAN CITY, NJ —Ocean City is heading into a busy stretch of June with the Flower Show, the return of the weekly Farmers Market and a new fishing tournament on the calendar. Registration also remains open for the Emergency Responder 5-Kilometer Race on June 13.
The Ocean City Flower Show will celebrate “Red, White and Blooms” from Friday to Sunday, June 5 to June 7, at the Ocean City Music Pier. The 52nd annual show is presented by the Garden Club of Ocean City and will feature floral creations and displays from enthusiasts of all ages. Awards are given in a variety of categories for artistic design and horticulture, and the event will also include a small sales pavilion.
This year’s theme encourages entrants to celebrate the nation’s 250th anniversary with themed entries. The public is invited to attend. Show hours are 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free, with optional donations to the Garden Club.

The city’s weekly Farmers Market opens for the 2026 season on June 3 on the grounds of the Ocean City Tabernacle along Asbury Avenue between Fifth Street and Sixth Street. The market will return every Wednesday through early September. Locally grown produce and specialties will be available, and crafters will set up on the 500 block of Asbury Avenue from 8 a.m. to noon each week.
Another event on the schedule is a new Fishing Tournament sponsored by Ocean City Police Benevolent Association Local 61 on Sunday, June 7, 2026. Any team of up to four anglers is invited to participate. The event will include cash prizes and will be followed by a weigh-in and barbecue at American Legion Post 524. Registration also remains open for the Emergency Responder 5-Kilometer Race on Saturday, June 13. Formerly known as the Cop Chase, the event now honors all first responders and will begin at the Ocean City Civic Center at Sixth Street and the Boardwalk. Race-day registration opens at 7 a.m., and the race begins at 8:30 a.m.
The event will also include a 1-mile fun run and walk and kids’ events with 50- and 100-meter dashes and a 400-meter obstacle course. The 5-kilometer and 1-mile events start on the Boardwalk and finish on the OCHS track, while kids’ events will be held on the field.
