Ocean City Football Keeps it Close, Falls Late to Middle Township
The loss drops the Red Raiders to 0-5.

The Ocean City High School football team was down by a touchdown in the fourth quarter, but never came any closer as Middle Township pulled away for a 41-21 win in Cape-Atlantic League action Saturday afternoon, Oct. 13.
The loss dropped Ocean City to 0-5 for the season. Middle improved to 3-2.
The Panthers scored the first three touchdowns on Zack Voegeli runs of 4, 15 and 2 yards.

The Red Raiders responded in the second quarter. First, quarterback Joey Keyes delivered a 26-yard strike to Owen Dierolf for a score. Jon Toro then intercepted a pass and returned it 70 yards for a score to cut Middle’s lead to 20-14 at halftime.
Vogelei scored on 5-yard run in the third quarter, but a 19-yard touchdown pass from Keyes to Matt Schuler brought the Red Raiders within a touchdown at 27-21.

However, two fourth quarter touchdowns, including a 3-yard run from Vogelei to cap the scoring ensured the victory for the Panthers.
