Ocean City Football Players Make College Decisions

Four players made their commitments during a ceremony on March 27.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — Four Ocean City High School football players will continue their respective careers at the college level. Jimmy Rice, Harry Pfeifle, Isaac Robertson and Bobby Shallcross participated in a ceremony at the high school on Tuesday morning, March 27, the school announced.

Rice, a defensive end, signed a National Letter of Intent to play at Southern Connecticut State University. Pfeifle, who played quarterback and defensive back in high school, committed to Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Robertson played running back and defensive back in high school. He committed to Susquehanna University. Shallcross, a wide receiver/defensive back, committed to Widener University.

Ocean City High School football coach Kevin Smith told ocnjdaily.com that it’s been over a decade since four players from the same class went on to play college football.

Ocean City was 7-3 and qualified for the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 3 playoffs in 2017.
