Ocean City Football Takes Early Lead, Hangs on to Beat Pleasantville

The Red Raiders won, 24-20, on Thanksgiving, according to nj.com.

The Ocean City High School football team took a three-touchdown lead in the first quarter before holding off Pleasantville’s rally in a 24-20 Thanksgiving Day win, according to nj.com.

The Red Raiders’ defense put Ocean City on the board when Zach Williams recovered a Pleasantville fumble in the end zone for the first score of the game.

Owen Naplacic added to the score with a 1-yard touchdown run, followed by a 38-yard run by Dan Henderson.

Pleasantville outscored Ocean City, 12-0, in the second quarter.

Kyle Blum’s 30-yard field goal provided a cushion in the third quarter.

Pleasantville scored its third touchdown in the fourth. Despite the two-point conversion, Ocean City was able to hold on.

The Red Raiders lead the all-time series, 47-41-7. Ocean City was 3-7 this season.
