Ocean City Football Team Edges Atlantic City

The Red Raiders won on a game-winning touchdown pass in a back-and-forth game Friday night.

Andrew Donoghue threw a pair of touchdown passes to lead the Ocean City High School football team to a 29-24 win over Atlantic City Friday night, according to nj.com.

Donoghue connected with Harry Pfeifle with a 14-yard pass for the winning touchdown in the fourth quarter.

He previously threw a 32-yard touchdown pass to Garrett Jones, in the third quarter. That score broke a 16-16 tie, but Atlantic City responded with a 4-yard touchdown run by Aaron Jackson in the fourth. A two-point conversion gave Atlantic City a 24-23 lead, setting up the Red Raiders’ heroics in the fourth.

Jackson gave Atlantic City the early lead, by catching a 55-yard touchdown pass from Ishmail Shakur in the first quarter.

Ocean City responded with a 3-yard touchdown run from Owen Naplacic.

The teams traded 4-yard touchdown runs in the second quarter, with Dan Henderson scoring for Ocean City. He tied the game to send the teams into halftime all knotted up.

It was the second win of the year for Ocean City (2-5).
