Ocean City High School Baseball Team Advances to Playoff Semifinals

The Red Raiders host rival Mainland on May 31.

Ocean City, NJ -- St. John’s recruit Sean Mooney remained unbeaten on the season and helped the top-seeded Ocean City High School baseball team advance to the semifinals of the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 3 playoffs with a 6-0 win over No. 9 Central Regional on Thursday, according to nj.com.

Mooney allowed just one hit, struck out nine batters and walked one in the Red Raiders’ victory. He improved to 7-0.

Josh Arnold had three runs and an RBI. He hit a single and a double, and walked twice.

Ocean City hosts No. 4 Mainland, a 4-1 winner over No. 12 Lacey, in the semifinals on May 31. The winner advances to the championship game, scheduled for June 3.

Ocean City opened the playoffs with a 13-5 win over No 16 Absegami on Tuesday.
