The Ocean City High School baseball team got the season started a day later than expected, but once they hit the diamond, there was no holding the Red Raiders back.

An Ocean City team that returns six starters, including two pitchers headed to Division I colleges, opened the season with a 12-4 win over Absegami on Thursday, according to the Ocean City Gazette.

Junior Sean Mooney, who has already committed to St. John’s, picked up the win with eight strikeouts and one earned run, according to the report.

The season opener against Holy Spirit on Wednesday was postponed due to wet grounds, according to the report.
