Ocean City High School Basketball Teams Advance in Playoffs
The boys and girls teams each advanced Monday night.

Both Ocean City High School basketball teams remained alive in their pursuit of South Jersey titles Monday night. Following their victories in Monday night’s double header, they return to the court for another playoff double header Wednesday night.
The Ocean City High School girls basketball team entered the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 3 playoffs as the No. 1 seed, and found itself in a fight early on. The Red Raiders held a four-point halftime lead, but was able to build on that in the third quarter and come away with a 48-36 win over No. 16 Central Regional, according to nj.com.
Ocean City hosts No. 9 Absegami on Wednesday night, 5 p.m.

The Red Raiders led 13-10 after the first quarter, and outscored their opposition, 12-11 in the second. They built on their lead with a 19-5 third quarter and held on for the win.
Olivia Briggs led all players with 16 points. Grace Sacco added 15.

The fourth-seeded Ocean City High School boys basketball team defeated No. 13 Pinelands, 71-45, to advance to the second round of the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 3 playoffs, according to nj.com.
The Red Raiders will host No. 5 Winslow in the quarterfinals on Wednesday night, 7 p.m.
Luciano Lubrano had a game-high 18 points. Connor Laverty added 16 points, and Noah Gillian knocked down 14 points.
Ocean City led 37-23 at halftime and never looked back.
