Ocean City High School Football Team Drops Out Of Top 8 After Week Off
The Red Raiders had the week off in Week 2, and dropped out of the top 8.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — After one week of high school football action in New Jersey, Ocean City was ranked in the top 8 of the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 3 power points standings, but after a week off, things have changed. The Red Raiders dropped out of the top 8, but remain 1-0 and look to get back in the thick of things this weekend. Later this season, things will even out and Ocean City will have a better idea of where it stands in the South Jersey football landscape.
A team earns six points for a win, plus between one and five points, depending on what group the team it defeated is in, and a residual point for each win that team has. A team’s first eight games count toward its final point total, but the lowest point total among these games is dropped, so seven total games count toward the final tally. The top eight teams in each group qualify for the playoffs at the end of the season. Below are the full standings for NJSIAA South Jersey Group 3, as posted on nj.com:
- Timber Creek (3-0) 32;
- Woodrow Wilson (2-0) 26;
- Pemberton (2-1) 20;
