Ocean City High School Football Team Picks Up Turkey Day Victory

The Red Raiders defeated Pleasantville in final Cape-Atlantic League game.

The Ocean City High School football team scored two points on the first play of the game and never looked back in its 43-12 win over Pleasantville on Thanksgiving Day, according to nj.com.

Dan Henderson had three rushing touchdowns, and Owen Naplacic had two to lead the Red Raiders’ attack. Ocean City opened the scoring with a safety on the first play of the game, and Liam Bergman rounded out the scoring with a 1-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

Ocean City held a 16-6 lead at halftime, and blew the game open with 20 points in the third quarter.

Ocean City went 4-6 in the final season of Cape-Atlantic League football. The league, which was founded in 1949, will join the West Jersey Football League next season. Ocean City will compete in the Independence Division, along with Absegami, Cedar Creek, Mainland, Oakcrest and St. Joseph.
