Ocean City High School Girls Basketball Team Undefeated Through 8 Games
The Red Raiders won a title in Florida over the holidays.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — The Ocean City High School girls basketball team is undefeated through eight games, including a victory at Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex outside Orlando, Florida.
The Red Raiders won a championship at the KSA Events Holiday Tournament over the holiday break, the Ocean City Gazette reports.
Coach Paul Baruffi told the newspaper the team is “more athletic than we’ve been in a while.” There are four seniors on the team, complemented by a lot of young players.

The Red Raiders opened the tournament on Dec. 27 with a 43-35 win over Anacoco (LA), according to box scores posted on nj.com. Grace Sacco led the way with 11 points in the win.
Ocean City advanced to the final with a 44-17 win over Miami Northwestern (FL). The Red Raiders used a balanced scoring attack in that one, with Rosalia Daddi dropping eight points, Sacco and Kilie Wyers each contributing six points.

Ocean City won the title with a 51-45 win over Mother McAuley (IL). Sacco led the way with 17 points, followed by Sadie Ford, who had 14.
Since coming home, Ocean City defeated Absegami, 64-35. Ford and Alexis Paone each had 11 points in the win.
The Red Raiders return to the court on Jan. 13 at home against Lower Cape May, 6 p.m.
