Ocean City High School Participates in Safe Driving Program Monday Night

The "Share the Keys" event begins at 7 p.m.

Ocean City High School will participate in a "Share the Keys" program Monday night in the high school auditorium, 7 p.m. The purpose of the program is to teach parents and students in 11th and 12th grades the importance of safe driving among teenagers.

The event will include a presentation and discussion on research related to driver safety among teenagers. 

The presentation is conducted by representatives from Kean University, South Jersey Traffic Safety Alliance, and the Ocean City Police Department Traffic Safety Unit.  

"Share the Keys" was created by Kean University in partnership with the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety and New Jersey State Police.

The program motivates parents to monitor their teens’ driving, and to be supportive and helpful. The anticipate result is that their children would be less likely to get in car accidents.

"Share the Keys" is research-based and-oriented to increase parental involvement in teen driving in hopes of reducing the risk of crashing.
