Ocean City High School senior Zach Altieri will continue his high school baseball career at Hofstra University on a partial athletic and academic scholarship, The Press of Atlantic City reports.

The pitcher hopes to lead the Red Raiders to a South Jersey title before going off to pitch for the Pride.

The aspiring criminal justice major wanted to stay close to home, and chose Hofstra over Boston College, Lafayette, Manhattan and Wagner, according to the report.

Altieri had a 2.70 ERA last season, and went 5-2, according to the report. He had 61 strikeouts and 18 walks.

The team was 15-9, according to nj.com.
