Ocean City High School Wrestling Team Picks up First Win of Season

The Red Raiders defeated Lower Cape May over the weekend for the team's first victory.

Ocean City, NJ -- The Ocean City High School wrestling team picked up its first win of the season this weekend.

The Red Raiders took advantage of seven pins to defeat Lower Cape May, 60-23, at home Saturday morning, according to nj.com.

Peyton Bristol (106), Nick McCardell (120), David Laverty (138), Andrew Morrill (170), Maverick Pearson (195), Kyle Strunk (220) and heavyweight Grant Howell each scored a pinfall victory in the win.

The victory was part of a quad meet. Ocean City also dropped a 33-30 decision to Pennsville. It also fell to Absegami to fall to 1-3 on the season.
