Ocean City To Host Paper Shredding and Household Electronic Recycling Day Oct. 8

Ocean City, NJ -- Ocean City’s semi-annual Paper-Shredding and Electronic Recycling Day is set for Saturday, Oct. 8, 8 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Shelter Road Recycling Center located off of Tennessee Avenue.

This event is free to residents and property owners in Ocean City, but proof of residency/home ownership is required.

Paper Shredding:

• Paper only; paper clips and staples acceptable.
• Paper shredding by a highly secure, mobile shredding unit.

Electronic Recycling:

• Small appliances, televisions, stereos, camcorders
• Computers, monitors, laptops and desk phones
• Also collecting CFL light bulbs

Marine Corps League Cell Phone Recycling Program:

• Bring your old cell phones that will be exchanged for phone cards for soldiers overseas.

The Shelter Road Recycling Center will also be open on Friday, Oct. 7, noon to 3 p.m., and on Saturday, Oct. 8, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for Household Cleanup Days.

Residents and homeowners can bring unwanted trash, furniture, cell phones and recycling. No contractors, construction or demolition debris, and no fluids, paints, or hazardous waste permitted.
