Ocean City Lifeguards To Staff More Beaches This Weekend

OCEAN CITY, NJ — Although this weekend might not have the best beach weather, more of Ocean City's beaches will have lifeguards. The Ocean City Beach Patrol will guard the following beaches beginning Saturday:

  • Seaspray Road
  • North Street
  • Stenton Place
  • St. Charles Place
  • Brighton Place
  • 5th Street
  • Surfing Beach
  • 8th Street
  • 9th Street
  • 10th Street
  • 11th Street
  • 12th Street
  • 14th Street
  • 15th Street
  • 18th Street
  • 24th Street
  • 26th Street
  • 30th Street
  • 34th Street
  • 36th Street
  • 39th Street
  • 44th Street
  • 50th Street
  • 58th Street

Beaches are guarded from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekends and holidays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Per Governor Phil Murphy's orders, officials ask beachgoers to stay at least 6 feet away from strangers and avoid large groups. Masks and face coverings are recommended.

Friday: Scattered showers before 2pm, then scattered showers and thunderstorms between 2pm and 5pm, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 5pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Partly sunny, with a high near 79. South wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Friday night: Showers and thunderstorms likely before 2am, then a chance of showers. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Patchy fog after 2am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 66. South wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Saturday: A slight chance of showers, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 8am. Patchy fog before 8am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 81. West wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Saturday night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 8pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 62. North wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 75. North wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Sunday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 57.
