Ocean City Mayor: Work on Beach Replenishment Project Continues

The first phase is complete, Mayor Jay Gillian said this week.

The first phase of the southend beach replenishment project is complete, Ocean City Mayor Jay Gillian wrote in his weekly update posted on the City’s website.

“Pipe has now switched to pump south toward 49th Street,” Gillian said. “Dune crossover work is ongoing at 37th and 38th streets.”

The beach is currently closed between 43rd and 45th streets, and Great Lakes is currently pumping sand near 44th Street beach.

He also reminded residents about Saturday’s Block Party, and the Ocean City Talent Show set for Saturday night.

“I would also like to remind everyone that we have a lot of road work ongoing,” Gillian said. “Please take your time driving and biking through town, and please be attentive to pedestrians.”
