“Ocean City, a 137-year-old family-friendly enclave, has been a frontrunner of this competition since the beginning. It's easy to understand why. Ocean City's charm comes from its embrace of all things corny. While other beach destinations have wrestled with their identities over the years, 10-square-mile Ocean City has never wavered in its devotion to wholesome fun. "America's Greatest Family Resort" hosts an array of wacky competitions and shows, such as the annual freckle contest, the Miss Crustacean Beauty Pageant & Hermit Crab Race, the french fry sculpting contest and more.”
In the spring, Ocean City won Coastal Living America’s inaugural Best Beach Bracket, winning a March Madness style tournament based on online voting.
