Ocean City, Nearby Beaches To Get $32.5M Widening
Additional sand will also be placed where it's deemed necessary in Ocean City, Sea Isle City and Strathmere.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — Three South Jersey beaches, including Ocean City's, will be widened under a new contract. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers hired a dredging company to carry out beach replenishment and project maintenance in Ocean City, Sea Isle City and Strathmere.
Most of the work involves widening the beach. But fencing will be repaired in some spots, dunes and beach access points.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers awarded $32.5 million for the project, but the work could increase the cost to $41.3 million.
