Ocean City Night In Venice 2022: What To Expect

Night in Venice returns to Ocean City this weekend. Here's what you need to know.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — On July 23, the annual Night in Venice boat parade makes its return to Ocean City. The parade celebrates its 67th anniversary this year. Here's what you need to know.

When

July 23 at 6 p.m. Following the parade, a fireworks display will provide a finale to the festivities.

Where

The parade route stretches from the Ocean City-Longport Bridge to Tennessee Avenue.

Free shuttle transportation will be available. Free seating will be available at street ends along the bay from Battersea Road to 16th Street and also at Tennessee Avenue. These will be first come, first serve. Grandstands will be set up at Battersea Rd., North St., 1st St., 6th St., 7th St., 11th St., 13th St., 15th St., 16th St. and Tennessee Avenue.

How to register

Register your boat here, your house here or your commercial condo here by July 20 at 4 p.m. for boats and by 12 p.m. for residences.

Theme

This year's theme is "Mummers: Struttin' on the Bay," a tribute to colorful costumes and string bands that define Philadelphia’s annual New Year’s Day parade and Ocean City’s Tuesday nights on the Boardwalk. This theme is optional.

Special guests

“It’s great to have two of our own leading Night in Venice this year,” Mayor Jay Gillian said. “Jay is a gentleman, a class act, and one of the best coaches in NCAA history. His legacy is a source of pride for everybody in the Philadelphia area and for all of us here in Ocean City. Patty’s support of Villanova and her work on behalf of those in need are exemplary.”

The night before the parade, July 22, Motown With a Twist will bring hits to the Ocean City Music Pier. The show features Keo Motsepe and Anna Trebunskaya, with pros from "Dancing with the Stars" performing with finalists from "So You Think You Can Dance," and vocals by "American Idol," "The Voice" and "America's Got Talent" finalists. Winners

Award winners will be posted on ocnj.us and oceancityvacation.com by noon on July 24. Starting at 1 p.m., prizes can be picked up from the City Hall Welcome Center.
