Ocean City Nor'easters Draft Former Rowan College at Burlington County Soccer Player

Allison Paonessa was recently drafted by the semi-pro soccer team.

A former Rowan College at Burlington County soccer player has been drafted by the Ocean City Nor’easters women’s soccer team, the college announced on Thursday.

Allison Paonessa, of West Berlin, is using the Rowan Connection to study psychology at Rowan University in the fall. She plans to play soccer for the university and keep improving her game.

At Rowan College at Burlington County, Paonessa was named team MVP, and earned First Team honors for Garden State Division I All-Conference teams, and Division I Women's Soccer All-Region first string team.

The Ocean City Nor’easters have sent more than 50 players into women’s professional soccer.

“Being picked for the Ocean City FC team is such an honor,” Paonessa said. “I'm excited to play for this team and hope one day I can make it to the professional leagues like many others from this team have. There's a lot of good talent on this team and I'm grateful to have this opportunity and to play with everyone.”
