Ocean City Nor'easters Soccer Team Offering Internships For 2018

OCEAN CITY, NJ — The Ocean City Nor’easters men’s soccer team is seeking interns for the upcoming season, the team announced this week. The internships run from May 1 until the first week of August.

“The Ocean City Nor'easters are offering internships for individuals seeking an opportunity to earn valuable experience and college credits with one of the country's top minor league soccer teams,” the team said in its announcement. “Those interested in the positions will gain this experience in a professionalized setting at one of the country's top vacation destinations in Ocean City, New Jersey.”

Interns will be involved with the front office staff, promotions in the community, developing and implementing marketing strategies, game day operations and local charity work. This will involve working some evenings and weekends as is necessary in running a competitive soccer franchise in one of the largest leagues in North America.

The following internships are available:

Social Media Manager: The candidate for this position would include, but is not limited to, managing and expanding the club's social media presence on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and other platforms. Also, coordinating with game day operations, taking photographs and videos during pre- and post-game and during practices to continue to bring fans more access to the players and coaches. This role also includes managing the club's official website.

Marketing: A marketing intern would be in charge of managing and distributing the club's newsletter both digitally and in-person. This position includes, but is not limited to, working with the club's marketing manager, writing and producing various marketing materials and working to coordinate game day operations. Candidates who have graphic design experience is a bonus, but is not a requirement.

Equipment Managers: The Nor'easters are looking for two equipment managers to take charge of the coordination, maintaining and transport of the team's equipment to all practices, as well as home and away matches. This position also includes various duties as part of game day operations.

The Ocean City Nor'easters are a minor league soccer franchise that will compete in their 22nd season in 2018. The team has established itself as one of the top Premier Development League (PDL) teams in North America.

The Nor'easters recruit players who have the ability to compete throughout the summer months in a professional setting while maintaining their collegiate eligibility. The team is the proving ground for players that aspire to reach the highest levels of the game (more than 60 have moved on to play in the pros), while providing affordable family entertainment to the Ocean City community.
