"We are looking to bring in some players to help our 2018 team take the next step toward a championship," Nor'easters general manager Giancarlo Granese Jr. said. "In 2017, we had a better record than the previous year's team that won the Eastern Conference championship, but due to a change in playoff format, we fell short of qualifying for the postseason. We are looking to take that next step and make it back into the playoffs this upcoming summer and bring the PDL trophy home to Ocean City. Over the past few years, our tryouts have always provided us with great talent. We look forward to all those who will attend this upcoming tryout and hope to find players that will help our team continue to be one of the best in North America."
Thompson pointed to a number of Nor'easters who have gone on to play professional soccer over the years, including: Ryan Richter (New York Cosmos); Tony Donatelli (Baltimore Blast); Chevy Walsh (Pittsburgh Riverhounds); and Tyler Miller (Seattle Sounders FC).
The team is looking to add some new faces to its roster of returning players from the 2017 season and fill some spots that are available due to some college seniors who have moved on to play professionally.
