Ocean City North End Beach Replenishment Begins Soon
Work will take about eight weeks, restoring beaches between Seaview Road and 13th Street.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will begin replenishing Ocean City's north-end beaches June 27. Work will take about eight weeks, restoring beaches between Seaview Road and 13th Street.
Ocean City, Sea Isle City and Strathmere are part of the Army Corps of Engineers's $32.5 million beach replenishment project. The north-end phase of the project was delayed a month.
"We’ve gotten some emails about, ‘why do we do it in the summertime?’" said Mayor Jay Gillian. "We do it whenever we can when somebody’s paying for 90 percent of it, and there’s only about three companies that do it."

"I know people loving going on the beach," Gillian said. "But as the administration, we really look at that as protecting our homes and our way of life."
