Ocean City Officers Bike To D.C. For Police Unity Tour

OCEAN CITY, N.J. — Several Ocean City police officers are biking to Washington, D.C. They're participating in the 2019 Police Unity Tour, which raises awareness for law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty.

The tour began Thursday morning at state police headquarters in Trenton. The first leg of the tour ends in Atlantic City. They will arrive Sunday to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C. Once there, families of fallen officers and their own family and friends will greet them.

Officers raised funds over the past several months for the National Law Enforcement Memorial Fund. The OCPD thanked Chief Jay Prettyman for his encouragement and full support.
