Ocean City Paper Shredding, Electronic Recycling Day Coming Up

Ocean City's semi-annual Paper Shredding and Electronic Recycling Day takes place May 4.

OCEAN CITY, N.J. — May the 4th be with you, with an opportunity to shred your papers and recycle electronics. Ocean City hosts its semi-annual Paper Shredding and Electronic Recycling Day from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 4.

The event takes place at the Shelter Road Recycling Center located off of Tennessee Avenue. It's free for Ocean City residents and property owners. Bring a driver's license or other proof of residency or home ownership.

Paper Shredding:

  • Paper only; paper clips and staples acceptable.
  • Paper shredding by a highly secure, mobile shredding unit.

Electronic Recycling:

  • Small appliances, televisions, stereos, camcorders
  • Computers, monitors, laptops and desk phones
  • Also collecting CFL light bulbs

Cell Phone Recycling Program:

  • Bring your old cell phones that will be exchanged for phone cards for soldiers overseas.

The Shelter Road Recycling Center will also be open noon to 3 p.m. Oct. 5 and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 6 for Household Cleanup Days. Residents and homeowners can bring unwanted trash, furniture, cell phones and recycling. The program prohibits contractors, construction or demolition debris, and no fluids, paints, or hazardous waste permitted.
