Ocean City Parades Celebrate Residents' 90th, 99th Birthdays
Even with coronavirus restrictions in place, Ocean City found a way to celebrate a great-grandmother and a World War II veteran.
OCEAN CITY, NJ β Even with coronavirus restrictions, Ocean City found ways to celebrate two special occasions last weekend: a 99th birthday and a 90th birthday.
The public participated Saturday in a parade for Francis McCormac, a World War II veteran who turned 99. About 85 vehicles wished him a happy birthday as they drove by his home, according to The Press of Atlantic City.
Ocean City followed Sunday with a 90th-birthday parade for Barbara Ann β a mother of eight, grandmother of 38 and great-grandmother of 53-plus, according to her daughter, Abigail O'Neill.

"My mom fell in love with Ocean City as a little girl, as her parents brought her here each summer vacation from Philadelphia," O'Neill said. "She honeymooned here and permanently moved to Ocean City after my dad's passing, but has rented many homes here year after year for family to be together."
Barbara is a direct descendant of John Hart, who signed the Declaration of Independence.
