Ocean City Patch Letter to the Editor: BPU Commissioners are Shills for the Fossil Fuel Industry

Steven Fenichel speaks out against the 3-0 approval of the project.

The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities approved the South Jersey Gas Pipeline Project to move forward without oversight by local zoning boards with a 3-0 vote on Wednesday, according to The Press of Atlantic City.

Executive Director Nancy Wittenberg said no further commission action is needed after reviewing “all public comment, testimony and other documents,” according to the report.

BPU Commissioner Joseph L. Fiordaliso was absent and Commissioner Upendra Chivukula recused himself, according to the report.

Below is a Letter to the Editor from Ocean City resident Steven Fenichel, a vocal opponent of the project:

Dear Chairman Mroz, Commissioner Solomon, Commissioner Fiordaliso, and Commissioner Holden,

Find out what's happening in Ocean Cityfor free with the latest updates from Patch.

You are nothing more than shills for the Fossil Fuel industry.

It is a pathetic lie, Mr. Mroz, when you claim to have analyzed all the public comments and then make the outrageous claim that these comments were opinions, not facts.

Then you have the audacity to state that only the experts of SJ Gas provided your little fiefdom with admissible facts.

Commissioner Fiordaliso who held two public hearings in Upper Township didn’t show up for the vote. Must have had a conscience about doing the dirty deed before Xmas and going against the tenets

of Pope Francis regarding Climate Change. You truly are a criminal syndicate unconcerned about the Planet.

Sincerely yours,

Steven Fenichel, MD
