Ocean City Patch Letter to the Editor: Hoping for Justice on SJ Gas Pipeline
Steven Fenichel hopes a lawsuit against the Pinelands Commission over the project gets justice.

Dear Editor:
I wonder if supporters of the SJ Gas Pipeline through the Pinelands realize how dangerously close to the point of no return we are on the escalating green house gases leading to irreversible, calamitous climate change.
We now know that fracked ”natural“ gas may leak enough methane to make its warming impact, especially in the near term, comparable to that of coal.
Anthony Ingraffa, who co-authored the Cornell study on methane leakage and describes himself as “a longtime oil and gas engineer who helped develop shale fracking techniques for the Energy Department,” wrote in the NY Times, “The gas extracted from shale deposits is not a ‘ bridge’ to a renewable energy future- it’s a gangplank to more warming and away from clean energy investments.”
For the sake of Mother Earth, our future generations and ourselves, may the lawsuit of the Sierra Club and NJ Environment receive justice against the impotent Pinelands Commission and a corrupt Board of Public Utilities.
Sincerely yours,
Steven Fenichel, MD
