Ocean City Patch Letter To The Editor: Trump Inauguration Signals Loss Of American Dream

To the Editor:

As Jan. 20 rapidly approaches, so does a sense of loss of the American Dream.

Refusing to divulge his tax returns and thereby his conflict of interests has become a non-concern in this desensitized Orwellian world of Trumpism.

Donald Trump's willingness to use torture should set off alarms in any citizen who might question his actions or statements.

His targeting critics such as Civil Rights leader John Lewis is red meat for his Tweeting audience to threaten and use violence.

This is the conduct of a tyrant.

For eight years, Trump tried to challenge the legitimacy of Barack Obama's presidency by questioning his birth in America.

His pressure to get people in Atlantic City to sell their property for his casino development in the 1980's should be well known in South Jersey.

This same technique he used in 2012 in Scotland to intimidate people to sell their homes so he could build a billion dollar golf course. The film "You've Been Trumped" reveals him in all his megalomania.

Can a Leopard change its spots? Can Mr. Trump put the public interest ahead of his personal interests?
What's the betting?

Now is the time for true patriots to stand up without fear and defend the principled America once represented.

Act locally but think globally is the best means to oppose a tyrant.
