Ocean City Patch Letter To The Editor: Trumpcare Is Not The ACA Replacement Americans Need

To the Editor:

Mr. Lobiondo pledged not to vote for a repeal of Obamacare (ACA) until there was a replacement healthcare plan.

Well this replacement is worse than the ACA, which reduced the number of uninsured before it from 45 million to 33 million. The Trump Plan will increase the number of uninsured to 52 million by 2026.

For every million uninsured people, it is estimated that 1,000 will die due to lack of access to care.

By 2026 if this toxic Trump plan is allowed to happen, there will be 52,000 unnecessary American deaths/year. That's more than the total number of American deaths from the entire Vietnam War fought from 1955-1975.

This works out to 148 unnecessary deaths every day with Trumpcare.

Mr. Lobiondo, this is not the replacement of the ACA that can be justified by your support.

Do the right thing and stand up for the American people, not party politics.

The only sustainable option for all the people including the politicians is Medicare For All. That is the only way to insure that not one precious life will be lost because the person lacked access to care.
