Ocean City Pi Day 5K Postponed Indefinitely
Organizers will schedule the walk and run for a later date.
OCEAN CITY, NJ — The Ocean City School District's Pi Day 5K has been postponed. A new date will be set in the future.
The running and walking event was set to take place Saturday. But many public gatherings have been postponed or canceled throughout the nation because of concerns about the novel coronavirus.
Post-race activities were set to include entertainment, snacks and awards.

The state and the Cape May County Health Department requested cancelations of large group events. As a result, Ocean City schools also postponed Thursday's preschool open house. Applications will be available in the main office beginning Monday, from 7:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. each weekday.
Cape May County has not confirmed any cases of the coronavirus as of Friday morning. At this time, the state has confirmed 29 cases in New Jersey. Governor Phil Murphy recommended canceling all public gatherings of more than 250 people.
