Ocean City Pops Turns to Broadway on Sunday
'Broadway at the Pops' will be performed 8 p.m. Aug. 26 on the Music Pier.

Selections from Evita, West Side Story, Kiss Me Kate, Annie Get Your Gun, Les Miserables, South Pacific and other musicals will be part of the "Broadway at the Pops" show 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, at the .
Singers Krissy Fraelich and Jeffrey Coon will join the Ocean City Pops orchestra for the show, which is sponsored by the Samuels Family in memory of Harriet Samuels.
Tickets are $15 and $10 and available at the Music Pier Box Office (609-525-9248) between Eighth and Ninth streets on the Boardwalk or by visiting www.oceancitypops.org.

Fraelich, a soprano, has been performing for more than 25 years. She recently finished a production of "Sunday in the Park with George" at the Arden Theater Company. She made her broadway debut in Frank Wildhorn's "The Civil War" directed by Jerry Zaks. She played the narrator in the first national tour of "Joseph ....Dreamcoat" for over two years.
Fraelich was nominated for a Barrymore award for her portrayal of nurse Betty Gow in Michael Ogborn's "Babycase" at the Arden Theater Company. She was also seen as Ellen in "Miss Saigon" and the narrator in "Joseph...Dreamcoat" both at the Lenape Performing Arts Center. She also played Eva Peron in "Evita" at the Walnut Street Theater.

Fraelich is a member of the Broadway Gospel Choir and performed with Linda Eder at Carnegie Hall. She also had the honor of performing "Songs for a New World" along side of Jason Robert Brown at Symphony Space in New York City.
Coon, a baritone, is an actor and singer who lives and works in the Philadelphia area and has performed in more than 75 professional productions. He has appeared locally at Walnut Street Theatre, Arden Theatre Company, Philadelphia Theatre Company, People's Light and Theatre Company, Prince Music Theatre, Fulton Theatre Company and many others. He has toured nationally, appearing at prestigious regional houses such as Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre and Houston's Theatre Under the Stars.
He is a 10-time Barrymore nominee for Theatre Excellence, winning for his performance as Dominique in "The Baker's Wife" at Arden Theatre Company. Favorite roles include Billy Bigelow in "Carousel", Harold Hill in "The Music Man", John Wilkes Booth in "Assassins", Gaston in "Disney's Beauty and the Beast", Che in "Evita", Cornelius Hackl in "Hello, Dolly!", and recently he be played Georges Seurat in Sondheim's "Sunday in the Park with George" at Arden Theatre Company. He has sung leading roles at The Walnut Street Theatre in both "Curtains" and Irving Berlin's "White Christmas". Last season he sang a leading role at The Arden Theatre in Tulipomania and this fall he stars in The Music Man at The Walnut Street Theatre.
