Ocean City Reaches 100 COVID Patients Cleared Off Quarantine

Health officials have been hesitant to use the term 'recovery,' but there are good signs regarding Ocean City's cases.

CAPE MAY COUNTY, NJ — Many health authorities have been hesitant to use the term "recovery" regarding the coronavirus. But there are good signs regarding Ocean City's cases. The city surpassed 100 total people cleared off quarantine Wednesday.

The Cape May County Health Department (CMCHD) has tallied 103 people in Ocean City cleared off quarantine, including five in longterm-care facilities (LTCs). Three people in Ocean City have died from the virus, including two in LTCs. There are 11 active cases in the city, none of which are in LTCs.

The Center for Disease Control has limited information when it comes to coronavirus reinfections. But they have confirmed no reports of a person being reinfected with COVID-19 within three months of an initial infection. But the variables and limited information make it difficult to measure "recovery."
