Ocean City Restaurant Association Raises $4K For Firefighters
They raised the money during their Chili Chowder Festival in October.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — The Ocean City Restaurant Association raised $4,000 for the Ocean City Firefighters Foundation Inc. during its second annual fundraising festival, the association announced this week. The foundation is run by the local #4032 union of the International Association of Firefighters.
Restaurants from all over Ocean City served steaming cups of soup to over 500 hungry patrons at the Chili Chowder Festival event in October. Families lined up for tastings from Ocean City restaurants such as Varsity Inn, Bennie’s Bread, Clancy’s, Jon and Patty’s, Arlene’s, Island Grill, Chatterbox, Randazzo’s, and Cousin’s. Johnny B Goode Ice Cream Parlor provided water and soft drinks.
For the first time this year, there was a Chili Cook Off between the three Ocean City fire stations. There was also a DJ playing music.

The money is then bundled into scholarships and rewards that are distributed locally to students at Ocean City High School, as well as at the Intermediate and Primary schools.
