Ocean City Seeks Nominations For MLK Community Service Award

The awards are given to citizens who exemplify the philosophy and ideas of Martin Luther King Jr.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — The City seeks nominations for the 2020 MLK Community Service Award. Honorees are awarded for exemplifying the philosophy and ideas of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Ocean City will celebrate King's life and legacy at two different events Jan. 20: the Day of Service and the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Ceremony and Soul Food Dinner. The ceremony takes place at noon at the Bill and Nancy Hughes Performing Arts Center at Ocean City High School.

The Day of Service runs from 9 a.m. to noon Jan. 20. Volunteers are encouraged join together to clean up different parts of the city. Signup and supply distribution will take place in the Senior Center at the Ocean City Community Center (18th Street and Simpson Avenue).
