Ocean City Student Gets Art Displayed In Capitol Hill
Isabella Johnson earned first place in the Congressional Art Competition for New Jersey's 2nd District.

OCEAN CITY, N.J. — An Ocean City High School student will get her art displayed in Capitol Hill. Junior Isabella Johnson won the Congressional Art Competition for New Jersey's 2nd District, Congressman Jeff Van Drew announced Monday.
The winners of this competition, which took place in each district, will have their art displayed in the Capitol tunnel. Van Drew will also display the district winners' art in his Washington, D.C., and Mays Landing offices.
The Congressional Institute sponsors a nationwide high school visual art competition each spring. More than 650,000 students have participated since its 1982 inception, according to the House of Representatives. Panels of district artist select winning entries.

Four Ocean City students were also runners-up in the contest. Here were the runner-up submissions from seniors Emma Horner and Ashely Chottin, junior Gabrielle Eiler and freshman Grace Kelly. You'll recognize bits of Ocean City in some of their work.
