Ocean City Superintendent Honored By State Sen. Van Drew
Kathleen Taylor was honored for being named the 2018 State Superintendent of the Year.

OCEAN CITY, NJ —Ocean City Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kathleen Taylor has been recognized by State Sen. Jeff Van Drew with a resolution this week, the school district announced. She was named the New Jersey Superintendent of the Year for 2018.
It was Van Drew’s last official resolution as State Sen. before he becomes the representative for New Jersey’s Second Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.
In part the Resolution reads, “The Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey are pleased to salute and commend Kathleen W. Taylor Ed.D., a highly esteemed resident of the Garden State, upon her selection by the New Jersey Association of School Administrators as the 2018 New Jersey Superintendent of the Year; and, where as, the strength and prosperity of the State of New Jersey and the vitality of our American society depend, in great measure, upon concerned citizens, exemplified by Dr. Kathleen W. Taylor, who tirelessly strive to secure an education that prepares our students for the challenges and opportunities if the twenty-first century.”

Taylor was also recently honored by AASA, The School Superintendents Association at the 2018 State Superintendent of the Year Forum in Washington, D.C.
Now in its 32nd year, the National Superintendent of the Year program celebrates the contributions and leadership of public school superintendents. The criterion for the annual award includes leadership in learning, communication, professionalism and community involvement.
