Ocean City Under Flood Advisory Monday

OCEAN CITY, NJ — The National Weather Service placed Ocean City under a Coastal Flood Advisory on Monday. The advisory will last until 2 p.m. Monday.

Water levels are expected to peak in the hours around high tide on the bay side at 10:02 a.m. Forecasters project a tide of 5.7 feet on the mean low water scale (MLW). The projection falls into the category of "minor" tidal flooding.

Residents should monitor conditions and be prepared to move vehicles from areas that typically experience tidal flooding. The roads closer to the beach including Central and Wesley avenues are typically at higher elevation. For your safety and the protection of your vehicle and neighboring properties, never attempt to drive through flood waters, and do not drive around barricades.
