OCEAN CITY, NJ — The National Weather Service place Ocean City under flood advisory for Wednesday evening through the end of Thursday. Higher-than-normal new moon tides could cause minor street flooding Wednesday and Thursday evenings.

Water levels are expected to peak around high hide on the bay side of Ocean City at 7:25 p.m. Wednesday and 8:16 p.m. Thursday. Forecasters project a tide of 5.6 feet on the mean low water scale Wednesday and 5.8 feet Thursday. This projection falls into the "minor" tidal-flooding category.

Flooding could also occur with high tide Friday evening.

Residents and visitors should monitor conditions and be prepared to move vehicles from flood-prone areas. The roads closer to the beach including Central and Wesley avenues are typically at higher elevation. Never attempt to drive through flood waters or around barricades.
