Ocean City's 36th Spring Block Party Is Saturday

The party along Asbury Avenue is 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on May 5.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — This Saturday marks the 36th year for what has become an Ocean City staple that regularly attracts thousands of visitors.

Ocean City’s Spring Block Party is set for Saturday, May 5, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. More than 100 downtown stores will be open for business and have table sales out front. Pony rides for children will be available 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the grounds of the Ocean City Tabernacle.

The event features more than 350 crafters, food vendors, musicians and kids’ activities stretched out over a mile of downtown Asbury Avenue between Fifth Street and 14th Street. Entertainment along Asbury Avenue will include the Tidal Wave Band and the Pennsport String Band, among others.

On Saturday night, the American Legion will sponsor a tribute to the music of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young in a special concert at the Ocean City Music Pier, 7 p.m.

The band CSN Songs will celebrate Block Party Weekend with hits such as “Suite: Judy Blue Eyes,” “Ohio” and “Love the One You’re With.” Tickets are $30, and can be purchased at oceancityvacation.com/boxoffice, by calling 609-399-6111, or in-person at the Music Pier Box Office, City Hall Welcome Center or the Roy Gillian Welcome Center on the Route 52 causeway. All proceeds benefit the Morvay-Miley Post 524 American Legion of Ocean City.

Merchant table sales will continue on Sunday between Sixth Street 14th Street on the boardwalk and downtown Asbury Avenue.
