Ocean City's Hobby Horse Ice Cream Parlor Catches Fire
The fire was contained to the attic, but the commercial space suffered water and smoke damage, according to officials.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — A popular ice cream shop caught fire Sunday night in Ocean City. A blaze went through Hobby Horse Ice Cream Parlor & Cafe on the corner of 8th Street and Ocean Avenue at about 11:56 p.m. Sunday.
The fire was visible through the roof on the back of the building. Ocean City Fire Department crews contained the fire to the attic and controlled it by 12:20 a.m., according to Ocean City Public Information Officer Doug Bergen.
The commercial space suffered water and smoke damage. No injuries were reported. The cause is under investigation.

Hobby Horse is a family business open May through October. Patch is awaiting word on whether or how long the parlor might stay closed because of the fire.
