Ocean City's Statewide Beach Ranking Falls In 2022: Report

Last year, a report ranking all 44 NJ beaches put Ocean City in the number two spot. This year, it didn't crack the top 10.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — It's obvious that Ocean City beachgoers love Ocean City. Its boardwalk and its beaches offer hours of fun. However, the beach is not as good as it used to be, according to a new report.

NJ.com ranked all 44 New Jersey beaches from worst to best. In the 2021 ranking, Ocean City nearly took the crown, coming in at number two. This year, however, it did not make it so high.

The 2022 ranking puts Ocean City at number 13. Why? The "beach itself has seen better days and now has exposed piping throughout sections," the report said.
