Ocean City's Veterans Day Ceremony Set For Saturday
The father of a Navy cryptologist killed in Afghanistan will be the keynote speaker.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month marked the end of World War I, and now marks the time when American citizens honor all the men and women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. In that tradition, Ocean City will host its annual Veterans Day ceremony on Saturday, Nov. 11, 11 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park.
Michael Strange Foundation President Charles Strange will be the keynote speaker for this year’s event. The Michael Strange Foundation is named after Charles’s son, a decorated Navy cryptologist who was killed in action in Afghanistan. The foundation supports the families of recently fallen service members.
The ceremony also will include music, remarks, prayer and the placing of a memorial wreath. Ocean City’s Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and American Legion posts sponsor and participate in the event.
