Ocean School District Recognizes Top Students

The district honored the top 10 students in the high school and the top male and female students from throughout the district Wednesday night.

The Ocean City School District recognized the top 10 students during a ceremony in the high school auditorium during its meeting Wednesday night.

"This is the culmination of everyone's hard work throughout the year," Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kathleen Taylor said of Wednesday's event. "This shows the importance of what they've done. It means the world to them."

Below is the list of top 10 high school students, with their cumulative average, college of choice and intended field of study:

1. Maham Ahmad: 5.0862; University of Pennsylania, Biochemistry

2. Carolyn Previti: 4.9445; The College of New Jersey, Accounting

3. John Kane: 4.9012; Brown University, undecided

4. Kaitlyn Fox: 4.8687; Yale University, Mathematics/Philosophy

5. Isabel Benvenuti: 4.7808; University of Richmond, Mathematical Economics

6. Lauren Vetter: 4.7218; University of California-Berkeley, Molecular Biology

7. Leah Kornberg: 4.6659; University of Pennsylvania, Biological Basis and Behavior

8. Hannah Childs: 4.6266; Cornell University, Engineering

9. Erica "Rosie" Catanoso: 4.26251; Fordham University, Biology

10. Lauren Sutherland: 4.6104, George Washington University, Biology

The district also named the top male and female students in the district for grades 7-11. They were:

Female, 7th grade: Nora Faverzani

Male, 8th grade: Kyle Phillips

Female, 8th grade: Victoria Patella

Male, 9th grade: Bradari Altman

Female, 9th grade: Giuliana Leotta

Male, 10th grade: Nickolas Eisele

Female, 10th grade: Juliana Kemenosh

Male, 11th grade: Benjamin Fischer

Female, 11th grade: BriarRose Ginn
