OCHS Seniors Enjoy Trip to Gillian's Island
As their high school days near an end, the Class of 2011 enjoys time together on a senior trip a few blocks up the Boardwalk.
One of the last events for the Class of 2011 happened Friday at Gillian's Island water park. About 300 Ocean City High School seniors hung out with friends and enjoyed the sun while sliding down Splash Down Falls and relaxing in the Lazy River.
The event was made possible by Karen and Henry Bender, Class of 2011 Council, Gillian's and the high school administration. Mack and Manco's pizza was served, and the students were happy. To raise funds for the event, the Benders hold Voltaco's hoagie sales and summer crafts shows. The students attend at no out-of-pocket cost.
Some students are former employees at the park and enjoyed going back. Each student had time for water rides, lunch, tanning and golf. They enjoyed being together for the event as the June 16 graduation nears.
