Our failed attempts at Nation Building –It is time we gave the concept up

Today we are witnessing the fall of Iraq after our troops and troops from coalition nations lost thousands of soldiers and have over 40,000 seriously maimed soldiers, sailors and marines from explosions created by our enemas.                                                                                                                               

Our equipment is being taken over by the insurgents-- this includes aircraft, hummers, all kinds of rockets and missile equipment. In addition the insurgents have plundered the banking system of over 500 million dollars.                                                                                                                                                        

 So much for nation building, and then leaving the country to the very people who initially were in need of a benevolent dictator. I refer to Sadam Hussein in Iraq, Hosni Mubarak in Egypt who ruled for over 30 years with some stability and also friendship to the USA.  Egypt is now in chaos. Then there is Libya ruled by Gaddafi, who also kept his people under control. We gave up Gaddafi and what we got for that was Benghazi and turmoil.

Our nation building efforts have not gone to well as can be seen by the results.

We have no business trying to bring our standards and morals to nations that have been strict reformers of their religion and governments for years.

If history tells us anything this is a battle that has been going on for a long time and if you look at the population growth of Muslims in Great Britain, France and Germany it would appear that they have a strong game plan. It appears we have none – only attempting to create new democratic governments in an area that understands only the Muslim way.
