Pair of Art Exhibits on Display in Ocean City in June
One exhibit celebrates the works of Marc Chargall. The other honors "The Beautiful Blooms of Summer."

Ocean City, NJ -- More than 20 artists from Atlantic and Cape May counties have painted their interpretations of the work of the legendary artist Marc Chagall, and those paintings are on display at the Ocean City Arts Center throughout the month of June.
Paintings “In the Manner of Marc Chagall” includes a “Meet the Artists” reception on Friday night, June 10, 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Paintings will be for sale.
A pioneer of modernism, Chagall was skilled in many mediums including painting, book illustrations, stained glass, stage sets, tapestries and fine art prints.

Ocean City Arts Center President Jack Devine chose the artist for the show because he was impressed by his color, images and most of all by the fact that he always returned to his hometown in Belarus.
“Family was important to him and he always returned to his roots,” Devine said in a statement issued this week.

The Ocean City Arts Center is located at 17th and Simpson Avenue.
Additionally, the Ocean City Fine Arts League celebrates “The Beautiful Blooms of Summer,” a flower themed exhibition at its gallery throughout the month.
A “Meet the Artist Reception” and awards ceremony will be held on Friday night, June 10, 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m.
The gallery is located at 608 Asbury Avenue. The event is free, and all artwork is for sale.
