Paper Shredding, Electronic Recycling Day Is Oct. 6 In Ocean City

It takes place at the Shelter Road Recycling Center located off of Tennessee Avenue

OCEAN CITY, NJ — Ocean City will hold its semi-annual Paper Shredding and Electronic Recycling Day on Saturday, Oct. 6, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Shelter Road Recycling Center located off of Tennessee Avenue, city officials announced.

This event is free to residents and property owners in Ocean City. A driver's license or other proof of residency/home ownership is required.

Paper shredding will be for paper only, and will be done by a highly secure, mobile shredding unit. Paper clips and staples are acceptable.

Electronic items that will be accepted for recycling include small appliances, TVs, stereos, camcorders, computers, monitors, laptops, desk phones and CFL light bulbs. Residents can bring in their old cell phones, and they will be exchanged for phone cards for soldiers overseas.

The Shelter Road Recycling Center also will be open noon to 3 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 5, and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6, for Household Cleanup Days. Residents and homeowners can bring unwanted trash, furniture, cell phones and recycling. No contractors, construction or demolition debris, and no fluids, paints, or hazardous waste permitted.
